Tim and Hannah Ruapuke Beach Engagement

I absolutely love Ruapuke and the west coast beached for thier black volcanic sands and the wild untamed natural landscapes, it just speaks to my heart and soul so when Tim and Hannah booked for an engagement shoot and said how much they loved it out there, I jumped a the chance to to head out one evening and capture some photos for them. The weather was perfect with the most amazing light towards to the end of the shoot and had so much fun … Ruapuke did not disappoint….!!

Raglan Beach Elopement Wedding of Tiarnan and Michaela

Well I think elopement weddings have my heart they really do, especially when the elopement wedding is held on the beach at Raglan beach , well Ngarunui beach to be precise… with its black volcanic sand and towering cliffs and a sea that seems to change its colour from greens to blue every time you look at it, the way the light hits the hills , its just such a breath taking coastline , full of drama and ever changing it just pulls at your heart with a longing …… And it had the same effect on Tiarnan four years ago when he came here from North Ireland and came out to Raglan on a surfing trip…little did he know that he would meet the love of his life Michaela who was also a long way from her home of Boston USA and four years later would be married on that very beach…….

When Michaela and Tiarnan first got in touch with me they had thought they wanted a lunchtime ceremony at the beach but after we had a good chat I told them about the light out at Raglan beach later in the day they with out hesitation moved the ceremony to the evening so we could get them some fabulous early evening golden light….. !

Raglan elopement wedding of Rachael and Lee

Lee and Rachael were married last Friday at a fabulous small venue organized by the lovely folk from Box on the hill , and local Raglan wedding companies providing cake and flowers all seems to perfect, I stopped off at Ngarunui beach to have a look at the surf and then popped round to Whale bay just along the road to watch the surfers and check out the waves crashing against the rocks there, all very dramatic, before heading just up the road to the air bnb where the ceremony was going to take place. And what a spot it was too, the views were stunning and just perfect for an elopement ceremony.

After the ceremony we headed on down to Ruapuke beach about 30 mins down the road for more photos on the beach with their two awesome children..

Zack & Renee | Raglan beach | Engagement photos

I Love heading out to Raglan for engagement shoots, west coast New Zealand is just so dramatic and wild and its forever changing, their are days you can arrive at Raglan Ngarunui beach and the sun is beating down and the black volcanic sands burn your feet as you dash to the waters age and other times you arrive and its dark and moody and the clouds are dark and threatening rain, the surfers are bobbing up and down in the water and you are reminded of how quickly the weather can change out here and how you really wouldn’t have it any other way as its just stunning and provides the perfect west coast beach environment for couples for their engagement photos.

Zack and Renee are getting married early next year and I cant wait for their big day !!

Barend & Jade's Raglan Wedding

Just a super quick blog post for this lovely couple with a few images in from yesterdays epic wedding out at Raglan.. Just as we thought the weather was going to pack in and turn grey and rainy for the day it had a change of mind and decided to be lovely and warm so Barend and Jade could get married outside on the clifftops at Raglan beach just as planned.....Here are just a few form the Bridal party photos.

We found the most adorable vintage bridge with an old willow tree hanging over and a tree lined driveway that was just dreamy !!

Oh my gosh that car......Wow !!!

The girls were absolutely on point and looked amazing !!

And the boys looked super handsome, although my tough man pose turned into everyone practicing their best Zoolander expressions and ended it fits of laughter......!!

Then we headed to the beach, just as the sun was almost down and casting long end of day shadows across the beach........

And as we were all still giggling away from the boys Zoolander poses, A bit of skipping down the beach seemed appropriate!!... We couldn't stop laughing... and of course we made them do it several times.......!!

Then down to some dreamy photos for the newly married couple on the rocks as the sun set behind the cliffs.......
