Testimonials,

I was fortunate to have Clare mentor me when I began shooting weddings. She gladly took an interest in my work and was more than willing to help me. I knew I needed help in some areas, but I had no idea I would learn so much!! We had a few meetings where we sat and looked at some of my work and discussed what was going well, and what wasn’t. She helped me to clearly see the mistakes I was making, and guided me to do better. Clare helped refine my technical skills. We have covered selecting the right gear and settings, how to use off-camera flash, simple ways to add effects to images to make them stand out, and most importantly - nailing the shot in camera. By observing Clare in action and working alongside her, she has shown me how to really see those precious little moments during a wedding, and how they all come together to tell the story of the day. I have learned how to use light, angles and positioning of subjects to capture more flattering images of my clients. How to direct and prompt couples naturally, which helps them relax and to show honest emotion and connections. Clare has been insightful when dealing with people on the day. Organising crowds and having wedding days run smoothly was a challenge for me. I also learned strategies for photographing difficult guests and bridal party members. When planning and working with clients prior to their day, Clare has taught me some valuable tips and tricks to not only have clear communication, but to pre-empt and avoid potential issues. Not only is Clare an excellent educator, she communicates openly and honestly, is absolutely hilarious and an all-round decent human being. She puts her heart into everything she does, and genuinely wants the best for others. If you are looking for mentoring, you cannot go wrong with Clare. Learning from Clare has without a doubt been the biggest factor in my growth as a photographer and the overall improvement of my work. I cannot thank her enough!!
